ACU - Character Sheet

After nothing to report I finally have a print friendly A5 character sheet to share.

This is a first iteration and I'm not entirely convinced with the layout of sections, although it passes the initial eyeball test.

I think a character sheet can tell you a lot about a game, especially a system you know reasonably well already. It can also intrigue if there are things you haven't seen before, which are the more exciting sheets to find.

I'll chuck up a low-rez version for initial opinions, do share them if you have any!

You should be able to click on this to make it bigger.

Progress Update - end of February

I'm not much of blogger if I don't post anything, so what has happened since my last update?

Not a huge amount, and nothing I can currently show, which is a partial explanation of why I haven't updated for a while.

What I have been working on is the character sheet, I feel like a grasp of what I want to record and how to display it will inform what I actually need to write and the overall design of the game.

Now the system and choices have been more or less fixed in my head  for a long while - I'm talking a number of years at this point, but a good character sheet is both a much needed reference and conveys the feeling of the game, and it is this last point that I've been contending with.

I have some cyberpunk touches to add to the sheet but they are proving a little taxing to get in a usable state, possibly because they are free use vectors which I have had to separate from a page and our entirely ungrouped, so I need to be able to select everything I need and group it without catching other things. There is probably a much simpler way, but I can at least do the work although it is a pain.

There is a mock up I can share though, and that is the front cover. This is pretty much what I envisage it to be finally, although I may add some sort of border, I'm not sure just yet. There isn't a back cover for the moment, I still need to write the blurb for that, and that feels like something to do at the end.

The main image is stock art by Dean Spencer, and that is I believe going to be the final title for the game.

I'm pretty lucky it is almost exactly what I might have chosen for a cover image.

So with that, I should get on and finish this character sheet as soon as possible and get this blog, and my game, back on track.
